Chicago, My Kind of Town!
If you’re like me, then you’ve probably lived in or near a certain city for a significant amount of time. And because of that time spent, every time you visit another city you end up thinking in your head, “It’s nice here, but it’s not like home.” For me it’s The Windy City. I was born in Florida and my family moved us to Chicago when I turned 3 or 4. Sure I’ll complain when the traffic gets thick, weather is too cold, weather is too hot, and when the Loop area is swamped with suburbanites looking for the “train to the Cubs.” (Don’t worry Cubs fans, I’ve run into other suburbanites looking for the train to the Sox). It’s just human nature to complain. However, every so often the “home is where the heart is” feeling gets revived. Tonight after a failed attempt to take advantage of “summer hours” and leave work at 2pm, I decided to make my way down to Millenium Park since it was a nice day. Ended up staying pretty late since the weather was awesome, there was an open orchestra practice to listen to, lots of people around to “people watch,” and opportunities to take some pictures.
