Not excited about the Nikon D300s?

Am I excited? No. A logical step forward? IMO, not far enough.

Nikon D300s

I’m afraid the new dazzle theme of PR departments and product marketing has shifted from “the most megapixels wins” to “our video capability on DSLRs trumps all.” Video on a DSLR is a nice option and the ability to use FX glass in a video environment is awesome, but as a photographer I do not find myself wishing my current D300 can shoot video. Instead, I find myself wishing they put a full frame into the D300s or increase the ISO capability of the sensor. Not necessarily both, as that’s why I would buy a D700 but an improvement in the chip capability would make me go “Oooooh!”

Well if not that, let’s make the FX lenses more affordable and available Nikon, c’mon!
